Pre-
So here's an interesting obvervation... apparently the Notre Dame student body is completely enthralled with sports and sporting events. Ok, that's not so impressive, but what I find amusing is how it has led the common lexicon to morph. Example:
Fill in the blank:
"Yeah, we're going to the bar/show/party/lecture, but it'll be pretty expensive/lame/full of engineers, so my buddies/girls and I are going to ______ at my place first."
Apparently, most of the world would select the word "pre-game" to satisfy the question. Not so at ND! "Pre-gaming" is reserved for special and holy situations, namely before a football/basketball/etc. game. Indeed, these events are incredibly important to domers and lead them to refer to all other such "pre" activities as "pre-parties." Interesting play.
Well, I've been brainwashed. Pre-party at my place, tomorrow night!
