Independence Day

We went to the Windy City for the Fourth of July. And just looking through all of these pictures was exhausting. Seriously. Also, I only looked at thumbnails when I picked them out, so we're going to enjoy this hi-res adventure together. Ok, less go.

Here's our view of the city from our pyrotechnics vantage point. I thought that this picture included the beach hut that was there, too, but sometimes life surprises you like that.

Pre-ignition. We were quite pleased with how little traffic we had to fight through to find this prime lakefront real estate. In this picture, my legs are hanging out over the water. Sadly, we were facing the opposite direction from the fireworks. Oops. But we did get to see Evanston's display before scurrying over to a better site.

Living and dying by the thumbnail, I guess. Sorry, JP. This one's on me.

We checked out the Lincoln Park Zoo, too, which would have been awesome except that is was astoundingly warm. The animals did not look pleased, but the polar bear seemed to enjoy his laps:

How cool is that? I shot it with my phone! ยกOtra Vez!

Hoover and Moose made appearances, as well.

The Nearly-Costa-Rican Demon was just so hungry. Holy crap.

Good times were had.
