Happy 4th!

I'm shamelessly ripping this photo off of a coworker whose skills far outpace my own. Nonetheless, he was standing fairly close-by, so the angle looks quite familiar. I've always loved Independence Day above other holidays. I guess that could probably be most likely attributed to my love of the summer. Not that I've gotten even the slightest bit tan this year. Also, it is only 3 days from my birthday. And doesn't even involve present poaching like suckers who made their debut on the 28th of December, for example. Anyway, I celebrated in style. Starting by walking halfway to work on Thurs, thinking better of it, and instead catching a bus downtown for drinks and lunch on Nicollet. Went to Five Guys. Went to Brasa. The Tap. Went to an awesome local pub, the Blue Door. Went to an awesomely tacky tiki bar "Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge." Grilled on a charcoal grill for a sizable crew (With a chimney!). Served elaborate breakfast. Snuck a travel kit of Goose to the fireworks. Went back and refilled the kit before the pyrotechnics started. Burnt my hand on a bottle rocket downtown. Broke out onto an apt roof and harassed/delighted the suckers walking back to their cars after the fireworks. Had Big Gingers at the largest Jameson purveyor in North America. Saw "Up." Went on a bloody mary tour. Caught rays at the beach. Pretty much just kept eating. We did not stop eating the entire weekend. Poor Lancelot Link's Spanish stomach took a couple good kicks.

It was a nice little weekend.

Bloody Marys? Big Gingers!? Guh! Jealous! (well, maybe not so much of the Big Gingers). BTW the word verification for this comment is "COP MATED". Thought you might enjoy that.
