My Spring Break. Totally.
Sadly enough, Spring Break '06 is gone but I'd have to say it is probably the best I've had so far in my collegiate career. Let's face it: the first two years I went back to Winona and it was l-a-m-e.
Midterms were rough. But I think I mentioned that before. Well, I'll just say that they were rough. I'd had my share of Gopher profs. Poor Irish Gopher had his share of 14 hour lab days. So on Friday, part of the gang and I headed over 7 Corners and tipped back a few. Ummm... wasn't really in the rawking mood but that's ok! Woke up the next day at the crack of noon. That's when Robert and I decided we would be driving to Chicago... why the heck not?! Swung through the sloppy Winona backroads and blasted off in the iOff.
"Hey MJ! How's it going? Where am I? Oh, ya know... well... actually... we're on our way to Chicago. We'll be there in 4 hours." Never mind the fact that the Junk was gearing up for a week of finals. It is not often that her ROOMMATE and fiance come down to the Chi and rawk.
We arrived in Chicago to a rainy sky but that didn't damper our spirits! (Oh wow... I sound like a cheesy news station... sorry). The first two bars were not good enough for us so we ended up on Lincoln Avenue. Good times ensued. Closing time? No such thing in Chicago!
75 cents to play Golden Tee? Hell no! From there, we took the world's shortest cab ride (approximately one block). $4 and 15 cents later, we ended up at Allende's. We decided we didn't want that so then we went to the Pita Pit.

"It has the word 'pit' in it... do you really want that?" No, Robert, we do not. So we ended up at Mickey D's. Ughhhh... but hey, good drunk food. The Junk wanted to start a fight with a girl in the establishment. No offense MJ.... bt she was a lot bigger than you! Luckily, Robert distracted us by stomping on some fries. Random but effective! The shoes got really greasy but it gave the Asians something to laugh at the rest of the week.
So the next day, we decided we'd let MJ study since she did have a final the follow
ing day. We hit up downtown and checked out the green river. So much yakking! But it was a good time. I'll never get sick of downtown Chicago. That night we watched the stories (how exciting!) and laid low. The next few days were really nice and relaxing. Pretty much all we did was eat and sleep and drink. In fact, while watching a commercial for chips and salsa and beer one night, we commanded MJ to bring us chips and salsa and beer... and she did! Good to know that some things never ch
ange. I got to meet up with a bunch of DePaulians which was fantastic. We managed to get MJ drunk on 99 Berries the night before she had a final... bwahaha. So we got her all liquored up in a rousing game of "F*** the dealer." She wanted to throw up but I would not let her. Even the old iPod was brought out and images were shown. Humorous. I guess you had to be there. So then the poor girl went to go study (drunkenly at 3 AM) and managed to pass out in the process. Good work, MJ... good work.
On Wednesday, we decided to get out of MJ's hair so she could actually pass the rest of her finals. It was another tearful goodbye at the el stop (I made the girl who ha
s NO emotion EVER spring a few tears!). We got back to MinneROCKolis on Thursday and lounged around. St. Patty's Day conveniently fell on a Friday. So we ended up at some dude's place and played the world's longest game of beer pong... EVER. Something about drinking beer out of a cup that has made contact with a ball that has been thrown under a dirty couch numerous times is not quite appealing to me. Oh well. Good times happened. We made it to a few bars and poor Lancealot finished off the night on the floor. Falling in the snowbanks and all over the place but it was entertaining.
Mmmm.
.. so the rest of the weekend was quite awesome. More
sleeping and great company.Despite the fact that I now have about a gazillion things to do and no clue where I'm headed in life, this girl is happy.
Mjunk: You need to come up here soon! You need a good scolding and nobody can spike drinks like you can!
Mmmmmm.... plagiarliscious.

Hmmm, are you just talking in the third person? OH, WAIT. You didn't even write your own spring break entry. For shame, Nips, for shame.

1. I miss you...dearly.
2. Midterms aren't as rough as FINALS. Especially when you're drunk.
3.You forgot to mention your little shit giggle while on the phone with me.
4. I definitely could have taken that girl down.
5. I didn't pass ANY of my finals. It's okay. Education's no object!
6. I SHALL return to MinneROCKolis and turn MinneROCKolis into GiantROCKolis.
7. This is the longest comment/list ever. I miss you.
Love,
Mary Junk.
