Big Al's

Dinkytown, USA is a dinky, dinky place. It has a dinky grocery store, a dinky mall, a dinky pizza shop, a dinky bike shop, a dinky tobacco shop, and even a dinky dome. But the dinkiest dinky dink in Dinkytown is surely Al's Breakfast.

The place has 14 diner stools, is 3 meters wide, and has a very pronounced list that nearly caused 2 sausage links to tumble off of the counter in a retreat to the "kitchen" when I went there for the first time this winter.

This place is awesome. The line usually wraps out the door as people sandwich themselves in behind the stools to get the next available seat. As a result, I've never been able to get in. On a particularly cold and early morning, we were finally able to beat the line and crash Al's. It was close to 90 degrees warmer inside than out. Humidity was near 100%

And the breakfast was good. Really good.

My coffee never dropped below half full and my jacket smelled like bacon for a week.

You should go.
