Cheese Grater
Basking in this, my first finals-free, end of the collegiate semester: Christmas edition, I coaxed shortstuff into peaceing right out of work the other day and heading downtown to watch the Holidazzle parade. If you don't recall from years past, a Minneapolitan tradition is to gather in the shopping district 4 (previously 5) times a week and watch an after-dark parade. Keep in mind that this Thanksgiving-through-Christmas tradition takes place outdoors where temps are routinely less than 5 degrees. During the day, volunteers comb the streets grabbing strangers off the sidewalks to dress them up in lights and load them on brilliant floats before stomping through the snow down Nicollet Mall, bisecting the city. This year the parade was hosted by Macy's after TCF bailed and left doubt about the annual holiday tradition's future. Coincidentally, Macy's also maintained the tradition of the Dayton's 8th floor auditorium Christmas display this year, transforming a whole floor of their flagship location into a Nutcracker fairytale. It was quite impressive.
Anyway, on the way there, our bus mowed over some chump in a Chevy Malibu. Seriously... how could you miss this?
Actually, no, that was just part of the parade. But our bus did shave off the front of a Malibu. Sucker. Always look both ways before pulling out. There might be a bus coming. That's honking at you. With a full load of passengers getting ready to laugh at you. Bahaha.
Chump.
