Seattle
Before this year, I had never been to Seattle. Now, I have been to Seattle.
Who knows why, exactly? Whatever the motive, a small posse, myself included, ventured west to see what all the stir was about. Since we only had 3 days to check the place out, we made sure we hit all of the classics before venturing out into the "International District," where we saw and ate all manner of creatures that you don't typically find at your local delicatessen. That includes the Pike Place Market:
Here we saw some fish, sampled lots of stuff, and showed off just how supersweet our Minnesota (Honeycrisp, SweeTango) trivia knowledge was for a chatty apple hawker. Also, we made an obligatory First Starbucks pilgrimage:
...and ventured onto the ferry plying the Puget Sound.
Which provided enough time, of course, for these guys to act like idiots.
Yup. I was there. In Seattle.
This is an ice cream sundae. Preposterous.
We even got a chance to cross the Tacoma Narrows, though it was too dark to snag a picture.
All in all, it was a very fun time. Special thanks to all the Blue Demons & Friends for lining up lodging, etc.
